for Adventist nutritionists
The Clinical Nutrition Internship and Mission Program is a 6-month program that provides Adventist nutritionists and nutrition students the opportunity to:
gain valuable clinical experience in a variety of mission-focused clinical settings
hone clinical skills in preparation for future practice
develop proficiency in science-based nutrition therapy
Upon completion, students will receive a certificate of completion for the Clinical Nutrition Internship.
Need & Purpose
More mission-minded Adventist clinical nutrition professionals are needed to meet the evangelistic demands of reaching a society that is increasingly interested in plant-based nutrition despite paradoxically suffering from lifestyle-related chronic diseases.
The aim of the program is to provide clinical training and experience for Adventist nutritionists

Weekly case studies
Students will be provided weekly clinical cases that will challenge them to develop nutrition treatment plans using the latest scientific evidence and Adventist health principles
Weekly group Zoom sessions to discuss cases

Learn to critically respond to common nutrition questions using the latest research
Clinics
Shadow Adventist nutritionists and doctors in clinic
Develop nutrition plans for actual patients in a supervised clinical setting
Learn patient care and clinical skills
Lifestyle medicine immersions
Participate in evangelistic lifestyle medicine residential and community immersion programs
Includes involvement in consults, cooking classes, juicing and herbal medicine
Clinical conference sessions
Learn how to work in an interdisciplinary clinical team

Gain valuable hands-on clinical experience while being part of exciting evangelistic lifestyle medicine wellness programs with like-minded Adventists nutritionists, doctors and other health professionals.
Learning experience:
Over 70 hours of clinical experience
Supervised clinical consultations with nutritionists and doctors
Develop nutrition plans for patients
Lead a cooking class(s)
Rotation in culinary medicine kitchen
Develop customized juices
Herbal medicine
One Week In Paradise is an 8-day lifestyle medicine immersion program in the beautiful Muskokas in Ontario, Canada. The program’s aim is help patients kickstart their journey towards optimal health and disease reversal while introducing them to Jesus as their healer.

Location: Paradise Fields is an Adventist-owned organic farm that is on a mission to produce the world’s most nutrient-dense produce. Paradise includes a wellness clinic with future plans for a lifestyle medicine wellness centre.

Prerequisites
Undergraduate or equivalent degree in nutrition/dietetics, or other nutrition-related certification
Seventh-day Adventist in good standing
Interest in health evangelism
Plans to enter clinical practice
Able to be in-person in the Greater Toronto area for clinicals
Nutritionists/dietitians who are already practicing are not eligible since this program aims to provide introductory clinical experience.
